Punk
With the photocopier as the main weapon of choice for bringing their message into the world, the punk movement came design-wise full circle back to the mimeographed expressions of the movements in the early Sixties, such as Provo. As a consequence of the multiplication method, many publications were in black and white, with color only provided by the color of the paper. That called for and often provided for a strong design. The titles of their publications, such as Vomit, When Mother Dies, Ripped & Torn and Kill your Pet Puppy, articulate the radical change from their predecessors, the hippies.
